Robbie Williams rakes in millions with new record deal

London: Singer Robbie Williams has signed a mega-bucks record deal with ‘Take That’s’ label Universal.

The deal is expected to dwarf his previous 80million pound contract with EMI, which has expired. The deal came after Robbie, 37, showed his pulling power by getting back together with his former bandmates for their No 1 smash album Progress last year.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Universal family at the most exciting time in my career,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying. He plans to record his next album at his own studio in Los Angeles.
