Washington: UK Pop star Ellie Goulding, who won the gig of a lifetime when she was asked to sing at Duke William and Duchess Catherine`s Friday evening wedding reception, has admitted that the experience was one that she will never forget.

"It was an amazing honor to be asked by Kate and William to perform at their party," Us Weekly quoted Goulding, 24, as saying on Saturday.

"The atmosphere was incredible and it is a night I`ll never forget!” she added.

Goulding was reportedly the only singer invited to perform at the intimate bash, where just 300 close family and pals of William, 28, and Catherine, 29, partied down.

Goulding is said to have performed her moving cover of Elton John`s ‘Your Song’, plus her more-dance friendly hit ‘Starry-Eyed’.

The royal couple reportedly chose the rising star because they were both huge fans of her 2010 debut album, ‘Lights’.
