Washington: Teen pop sensation and actress Selena Gomez is to host this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs).
This year’s awards ceremony is set to be held at the Odyssey Arena, in Belfast, Ireland on Nov 6.
The 19-year-old singer will be connecting with fans globally by tweeting throughout the event, as well as offering commentary and sharing behind-the-scenes secrets through the official website.
“I’m so excited to be the host of the 2011 MTV EMAs - it’s a dream come true. This is such a huge event that always recognises the biggest stars in music from across the globe, so it’s a real honour to be MC at this year’s show,” Contactmusic quoted the teen icon as saying.
With the nominations having already been announced, Lady Gaga leads the troop with six nominations. Katy Perry and Bruno Mars come second with 4 nominations while Gomez’s boyfriend, Justin Bieber, Adele and rockers Thirty Seconds to Mars come third with 3 nominations each.
