Spice Girls funded Olympics performance: Mel B

London: Pop girl band Spice Girls used their own cash to pay for their show-stopping set and costumes at the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, says singer Melanie Brown.

The five-piece, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Brown and Victoria Beckham, reunited for the show in London where they rode into the Olympic Stadium on traditional black taxis and sang a medley of their hits `Wannabe` and `Spice Up Your Life`, reported a leading daily.

"We didn`t get paid for the Olympics - we funded it ourselves, costumes and everything. It just goes to show how much we do get on and do like each other," Brown said.

The band had stolen the show at the closing ceremony of the sporting extravaganza in August this year.
