‘The Beatles’ got inspiration for classic songs from cinema ads

‘The Beatles’ guitarist Sir Paul McCartney has admitted that he and his bandmate George Harrison got inspiration for their classic songs from anything they found funny, including a cinema advert for a furniture brand.

London: ‘The Beatles’ guitarist Sir Paul McCartney has admitted that he and his bandmate George Harrison got inspiration for their classic songs from anything they found funny, including a cinema advert for a furniture brand.
“There was one for furniture called Link, showing this couple eyeing stuff up, where the catchphrase was, ‘Thinking of Linking?’ And me and George were saying to each other, ‘You know what? That’s a good title’,” McCartney told Q Magazine. The 70-year-old said the commercial inspired him to include such lyrics in one his earliest songs as: ‘Thinking of linking my love with you, thinking and linking can only be done by two’. But the quality control that kept the band records so consistent was in effect even in the early days and Thinking And Linking never made it to a release, the Daily Express reported. ANI
