U2’s ‘360’ tour grosses $736m to beat Rolling Stones’ previous record

New York: U2’s latest tour ‘360’ has made history as the most successful concert tour of all time after having grossed a record-breaking 736.1 million dollars, thereby beating Rolling Stones’ previous record for the highest grossing tour at 558 million dollars.

The Irish rockers wrapped up its 110th and final show in Moncton, New Brunswick last weekend.

“This tour was a brilliant success on every level and all involved should be extremely proud," New York Daily News quoted the band``s tour producer and chairman of Live Nation``s Global Touring, Arthur Fogel as saying.

“U2 once again have set the standard for achievement – perhaps for all time,” he added.

The tour began in Barcelona in 2009, making its way through 30 countries, across five continents, playing for more than 7.1 million hard-core fans.
