New Delhi: The Academy Awards 2014 is the biggest star studded event that the entire world looks forward to. As we gear up for the show that goes live in a few hours, here is preview of the 10 things one must watch out for during the show.

The battle for `Best Film`

The biggest criticism that the Oscar Awards has always faced is that the Best Film Nominations are just a farce, and many have claimed that it is rigged. This time though the battle is fierce. `Gravity`, `12 Years A Slave`, `American Hustle` are all favourites for the run. `12 Years..` has got five awards already at the Spirit Awards and `Gravity` has created a stir all over the world with an astounding 10 nominations at the Awards

Ellen DeGeneres:

She is a heroine for those fighting for gay rights, and she does everything she does, with élan. The funny talk show host is ready to take on the challenging task of hosting the Oscars a second time. She did pretty well the first time around in 2007, and she said she was nervous about this time in quite a few interviews. She will be dressed in chic ensembles that were designed by Hedi Slimane from the house of Saint Laurent.

“He’s made some gorgeous, beautiful suits,” she said in a candid interview.

Must watch out for how Ellen keeps the viewers hooked and in splits for the duration of the show.

The real best actor winners:

Well, we don`t mean that there is a parallel award show that honours those who should have won but did not. What we mean is that the audience should keep a look out for the best kept expressions on those who don`t win.

Many a blooper has made it to YouTube, where the who`s who of Hollywood have failed to keep their emotions in check and cheered the winners. And spotting the sour losers is always good fun.

The Gift Bag:
Speaking of not making it, this time the Oscar team has taken a note of all the effort the stars make to attend the show. And therefore, they have planned to give out gift bags to the `losers`. All the Nominations will get a special gift bag from the Academy team worth a whopping 80,000 dollars.

Rumour has it that the bag contains a horse shampoo tube, among other tit bits. Wonder what that is for?

The performances:
Other than the announcement of the winners the best of presenters like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Bill Murray, and Benedict Cumberbatch; and the host Ellen, this year the line up of the performances supposed to happen at the ceremony are overwhelming and sure to keep the viewers entertained.

The line up has the best of the Hollywood music industry including Pharrell Williams, U2, Karen O, Bette Midler, Idina Menzel and the famed solo performer Pink.

Expect a lot of glamour on the red carpet. Be awed with the grandeur of the evening. And don`t forget to tell us what you liked the most during the show.
