New Delhi: Sooraj Pancholi – who has by now become a household name with the Jiah Khan suicide case – was to make his highly awaited Bollywood debut with Subhash Ghai’s ‘Hero’ remake this year. However, now everything depends on Salman Khan whether he wants Sooraj in the movie or not.
According to a leading daily, Subhash Ghai – the co-producer of the movie, had earlier said in an interview that the makers of ‘Hero’ remake “have not yet confirmed Sooraj or Athiya Shetty” for the film.
Additionally, Ghai said that all of it now depends on Salman Khan.
On being asked if is Aditya Pancholi’s son is still a part of the venture, Ghai said, “Salman will take the final call on this. We’re yet to finalise the details.”
The movie – which is a collaboration between Salman Khan’s production banner and Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts – is a remake of the 1993 Jackie Shroff-Meenakshi Seshadri starrer ‘Hero’.
If rumours are anything to go by, the makers of the movie are yet to finalise a director too.
Sources close to Salman claim that he is not the mood to take any rash decisions.
“Salman is waiting for Sooraj to get out of jail. He has been in touch with Aditya. Although it’s unlikely that Salman will back out from launching Sooraj, right now, he isn’t thinking about it,” a source said.
When asked about Sooraj’s berserk Bollywood debut, Aditya said “Why don’t you talk to Subhash Ghai or Salman bhai about this? I am not the right person to answer this question. And if Mr Ghai is saying anything like that, you should print it.”
