Beckham to sue US mag over `prostitute` claims
Los Angeles: David Beckham said on Thursday he will sue an American weekly magazine that published allegations that the former England captain had slept with a prostitute.
Beckham`s legal representatives said in a statement that the claims were "completely untrue and totally ridiculous, as the magazine was clearly told before publication".
"Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it."
The statement followed a story in the In Touch magazine relating to an alleged relationship in New York in August 2007.
Beckham, who plays for Los Angeles Galaxy in the United States, has been married to pop star Victoria for 11 years and they have three children.
