Hrithik gets choosy, signs a single flick for 2008
Mumbai, April 08: After literally setting the scene on fire in a sword brandishing scene in ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, Bollywood’s eye-candy, Hrithik Roshan will next be seen in an Anurag Basu film ‘Kites’.
The actor, who has signed just one flick so far this year, states that he shall only take up roles that get him really excited.
Speaking to reporters, Hrithik said, “So far this year I've said yes only to Anurag Basu's 'Kites', which he's making for my dad (Rakesh Roshan). But, yes, in my mind I've green-signalled a lot more work.”
So, is it the success of ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ that has made Hrithik ultra choosy? The actor, who has always been a director’s delight, feels that he was never in a position to lay down pre-conditions.
However, things seem to have changed now. “My basic criterion now is that I should be excited about the films I agree to do,” he adds.
Though the actors’ stunning performance in Jodhaa Akbar left the audience awestruck, his female fans have been long worried over his leg injury. Much has been said about how the injury occurred, and many believe that it was on the sets of his latest epic blockbuster. But, Hrithik has finally decided to come out and clear the air and here is what he has to say:
“This is one of those false stories that have gained credence only because I've kept quiet. Let me state once and for all that the injuries did not happen during 'Jodhaa Akbar’.”
The actor reveals that his right knee had been facing a battering from the time he started training for 'Krrish'. “It was an ongoing process since 2004. The knee was crying for a break that I did not give it. We sometimes forget how human we are. We start looking at ourselves as heroes immune to injury and pain. That's stupid. I've learnt it the hard way. Hopefully, I'll be fully cured soon, and I'll be back in action knee-down,” he adds.
Well, we surely hope you get fine…
