Lady Gaga under fire over her assault-rifle lingerie

London: Pop star Lady Gaga risked sparking outrage when she wore lingerie fitted with plastic assault rifles, less than a month after 26 people lost their lives in a US school shooting.
The 26-year-old singer donned the controversial outfit during the North American leg of her Born This Way Ball tour. And it is likely to upset families of the victims of killer Adam Lanza, who gunned down 20 children and six adults in the massacre in December, reported Daily Mail online. Gaga is known for her outrageous stage outfits; and among the wardrobe choices for her concert in Vancouver, Canada, were a meat dress and a pink-dyed fur stole. Wearing the meat costume, the singer was wheeled on to the stage by two dancers in a contraption echoing a butcher`s shop as big fake carcasses were hanging on hooks by her side. A yellow latex dress and a white outfit that looked like a mix between a space suit and a beekeeper`s outfit were also among her outlandish stage garb. And Gaga whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, is known to be unapologetic about her outfits. Hitting back at earlier criticism from fans over her wearing of fur coats, she wrote, "I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux fur-pile or real because I think it hypocritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb alligator, `kermit` and not to mention meat, that I have already worn. "You see a carcass, I see a museum piece de resistance," she had said. PTI
