Pup’s bond with lingerie brand ‘Bonds’ ends due to ‘image concerns’
Melbourne: Australian cricket captain Michael ‘Pup’ Clarke has dumped lingerie brand Bonds from his list of sponsors due to image concerns.
Clarke regularly posed as the ambassador of Bonds for sexy magazine and billboard ads in his underwear, flaunting his tattooed torso.
The decision came as the pictures are at odds with the image befitting an Australian skipper, which is perhaps considered as the country’s most important sporting role.
“Michael enjoyed a wonderful three years with Bonds but in the end we felt people had seen enough of Michael in his undies - for now, anyway,” manager of Clarke, Chris White told The Daily Telegraph.
Clarke has also ended his relationship with another sponsor, Gillette, with whom he had been since 2009.
