Tulisa lashes out over claims of leaking sex video for publicity

London: Tulisa Contostavlos has furiously denied that her X-rated video was made public in order to promote her new solo album.

The ‘X Factor’ judge, 23, came under fire from sceptical fans as she launched a solo music career just two days after admitting she was the woman in the sex video.

Her first single, ‘Young’, opens with the lyrics “Forgive me for what I have done cos I’m young”.

Radio One listeners who heard the track on Chris Moyles’ show were quick to slam the singer.

“Tulisa releases new single about being young and making mistakes, what a coincidence,” the Daily Star quoted a fan as tweeting.

Tulisa, formerly in N-Dubz, has opposed that she had anything to do with the sex tape being made public.

She claims ex Justin Edwards sold the tape.

However, Edwards denies the allegation.

“Both sides of the story should be heard before passing judgment,” he said.

“It is absolutely ludicrous for people to suggest the tape was a publicity stunt,” Tulisa’s spokesperson, Simon Jones said.

“The song was recorded last year and the video filmed last month. It is complete insanity to say she leaked the sex tape herself.

“She has put her heart and soul into her solo career. Why should she have to delay her music release when she has done nothing wrong?” he added.

A source close to the star said she wouldn’t let the accusations get her down.

“It has been the worst week of Tulisa’s life. She hasn’t left the house, it has left her distraught. The release of her single has really lifted her spirits,” the source said.

“The response from music fans has been incredibly positive and she will not let her ex’s attempts to bring her down influence her decision-making.

“Delaying the music and video release was not an option. She refuses to lay low as that will make Justin feel as though he’s ‘won’.

“Tulisa is quite happy for Justin to sell his story. She would love to hear how he plans to try and justify why he violated her privacy,” the source added.
