Mumbai: The latest youth anthem `Kolaveri Di` has gripped the nation but singer-actor Dhanush is yet to believe that the song has indeed received incredible response across the country.
The `Kolaveri Di` fever is yet to sink in for him and the son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth is unable to believe that the success is for real.
Talking to DNA, the youth sensation said, “I’m actually blank about it. I’m trying to forget it and concentrate only on my shoot now. It hasn’t become real for me. I’m not even taking it seriously.”
Surprisingly none from the Tamil Film Industry has spoken to him about the roaring success the song has garnered.
“Nobody from my industry has spoken to me about the song… I haven’t got any recognition from my industry,” said the multi-talented actor.
Moreover, he feels he isn’t a good singer. It was just by chance that he rose to popularity as a singer.
“I’m not a trained singer, I’m just a bathroom singer. I’m an actor first,” said the actor.
With over 9 million views on YouTube and the song trending relentlessly on Google every single day, `Kolaveri Di` fever is here to stay. Even Japan has succumbed to the magic created by Dhanush. There are videos of Japanese people on YouTube grooving to the chartbuster. Rajinikanth was a popular figure in the `Land of the Rising Sun`, but it seems his son-in-law too is rising to his stature in the country.
“Now everywhere I go, I’m asked to sing the song. I’m aware of all the videos put up online. It feels nice to see people making their own versions of the song,” he said.
