Kolkata girl Misti happy to get Subhash Ghai film

Indrani Chakraborty could not believe her luck when she got back-to-back offers of a Subhash Ghai film and a Bengali film starring superstar Prosenjit.

Kolkata: Actress Indrani Chakraborty could not believe her luck when she got back-to-back offers of a Subhash Ghai film and a Bengali film starring superstar Prosenjit.
"I was shooting in New Castle in the UK with Bumbada (Prosenjit) when one day I got a call from Subhashji`s office sounding me for the role, and I said yes without thinking much," said Indrani about her upcoming Ghai film ‘Kaanchi’. The Bollywood showman is reported to have blended music and dance with the central theme in ‘Kaanchi’, which is expected to hit the screens by the end of this year. Indrani, who is fondly called as Misti, said she did not expect things to turn this way so fast. "After graduation, I did a few Bengali films and some modelling assignments, and that`s all about it." She rates Ghai`s ‘Taal’ as her favourite movie. "I love the film for the innate lyricism of the script, the unfolding of the story, the relationships, the beauty of a younger Aishwarya Rai and above all the music part," she said. Coming to her role in ‘Parichay’ being directed by Basu Chatterjee`s daughter, Rupali Chatterjee, she said she was happy at being cast as Prosenjit`s daughter in her very first film. "He is my dad in the film which is a sweet tale of father-daughter relationship and it is hard to believe when the camera rolls that `Bumbada` (Prosenjit) is not your father," she said. She said Basu Chatterjee`s daughter has traces of his father`s simple, uncomplicated story telling technique. PTI
