New Delhi: The history and controversies of the British royal family and the grand nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be showcased in a week-long TV show centred on the royal family starting Saturday.
Lifestyle channel TLC has planned to kick off a special "Royal Wedding Week" in a lead up to the William-Kate wedding day, April 29.
The show will take a look at the royals through exclusive and archived footage as well as interviews with family, close friends and passionate royal enthusiasts.
It will feature six special premiere programmes and will culminate in the live telecast of the wedding on D-day.
The first programme "Royally Astounding: 30 years in 30 days" will trace the royals` life from 1981, when Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer.
The one-hour special will cover the events of 30 years like the break-up of the marriage of Charles and Diana, and Diana`s death in a car crash in Paris.
"Charles and Di: Once upon a time" - the subsequent series will take a look at the romance and subsequent fairytale wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, while "Wild About Prince Harry" will take a closer look at Prince Harry`s childhood and growing up years.
Other programmes will feature stories on royal wedding souvenir collectors, the various people who make the wedding happen and members close to the royal family.
