London: Prince William went ahead for an impromptu walkabout just hours before his wedding to Kate Middleton yesterday and greeted royal watchers gathered near the Buckingham Palace. William spent several minutes exchanging pleasantries, chatting and posing for pictures on Thursday, telling well-wishers: “All I`ve got to do is get the lines right.” It is believed that Kate and William have been "incredibly moved" by public reaction. In a message in their official wedding programme, Kate and William said, “We are both so delighted that you are able to join us in celebrating what we hope will be one of the happiest days of our lives. The affection shown to us by so many people during our engagement has been incredibly moving, and has touched us both deeply. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone most sincerely for their kindness.” During Friday`s Westminster Abbey ceremony, Kate will vow to "love, comfort, honour and keep" but will not vow to obey William. More than 6, 00,000 people will throng the streets to watch Friday`s events and umpteen will be camping out in tents outside the Westminster Abbey.
