`Def Leppard` guitarist Phil Collen ties the knot

Los Angeles: `Def Leppard` lead guitarist Phil Collen has tied the knot with costume designer Halen L Simmons. The British heavy metal legend married Simmons on the beach at Florida`s Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach resort in a sunset ceremony on Friday, People reported online.

"We`ve been looking for each other our entire lifetime. To say we`re ecstatic this day has finally come is putting it mildly. It could only be us for each other," Collen said. The guest list for the wedding included the 52-year-old guitarist`s `Def Leppard` bandmates Rick Savage and Vivian Campbell, as well as Muay Thai champion and trainer Jean Carrillo, who was the best man. The couple, who met on the band`s 2008 Sparkle Lounge tour, also added some eco-friendly touches like e-mailing the wedding invites, which were designed by Paperless Post, and their alcohol-free reception meal, which featured an organic vegetarian menu since Collen has been a vegan for 27 years. "We didn`t intentionally start out trying to have green wedding. But since it`s a natural part of our lifestyle to respect the environment, everything flowed pretty naturally," Collen said. PTI
