David Duchovny and wife finalise divorce

Los Angeles: `X-Files` actor David Duchovny and his wife Tea Leoni have divorced after seventeen years of marriage.

The couple filed for divorce last year, and a judge finalised the documents in June, suggest reports.

The couple previously split briefly in 2008 while Duchovny sought treatment for sex addiction, but then seperated again in 2011.

In 2012 Duchovny confirmed the couple were still married despite their seperation.

The couple have two teenage children together, Madelaine West (15) and Kyd Miller (12).

Court documents order Duchovny to pay USD 40,000 a month to Leoni, 48, plus an additional USD 8,333 a month to provide for their two children.

He will also be responsible for their summer camp, extracurricular activities, tutoring, private school, college and medical expenses, with these costs worked out based on his USD 7.9 million annual salary.

Representatives for Duchovny and Leoni have not yet commented on the divorce reports.
