Former Bond star George Lazenby divorces wife

Los Angeles: Former James Bond star George Lazenby has legally separated from his wife of nine years Pam Shriver.

The 71-year-old actor, best known for portraying James Bond in the 1969 film `On Her Majesty`s Secret Service`, has officially ended his marriage with the former tennis player, though they remained separate for several years, reported E! Online. According to reports, Shriver applied for divorce citing irreconcilable differences and accused Lazenby of threatening to kill her. She also charged him of assaulting her in a drunken rage and giving alcohol to their three children. Denying all charges, the former 007 star has launched a legal battle to nullify a prenuptial agreement between them. In spite of announcing their divorce, the financial agreement will be kept confidential and the couple will share the custody of their six-year-old son George Jr and five-year-old twins Kate and Sam.
