Hugh Grant still number one for Liz Hurley
London: Liz Hurley and Hugh Grant continue to be friends ten years after they ended their relationship but the actress, who is now happily married to Indian businessman Arun Nayar, still believes that Grant is "number one" for her.
She became friends with Grant after their "amicable" break-up in 2000 and she continues to look upon the actor as someone who understands her better than anyone else, even her husband.
In an interview that may not please Nayar, the 44-year-old model-actress says she considers Grant her "overall best friend", Daily Mail reported.
Hurley also confesses to having somewhat "unusual" living arrangements where Grant, 49, has a bedroom at her home.
"My overall best friend is Hugh. My "current affairs" best friend is Arun, because we speak to each other all day, every day.
"My sister Katie is my loyal best friend. But there is a part of my life neither Arun nor Katie understand; a career part and a different emotional level where Hugh is still my number one. We`ve been best friends for 24 years and that`s not nothing," Hurley told Zest magazine.
Hurley, who has an eight-year-old son, Damian, with US businessman Steve Bing, said, "Hugh virtually has a bedroom at our house and we`re still neighbours in London. And he`s an excellent godfather to Damian.
"He`s a part of our family, we all go on holiday together and Arun and Hugh get on incredibly well. We`re all grown up, and if I wanted to be with Hugh, we would be together."
The actress, who married Nayar in 2007, said they have been trying for a baby for some time.
"Arun would love another one. Damian does not want another one. And I think it would be great if one came along. But we`re grateful for what we`ve got," adding that the businessman loves her son.
Hurley and Grant met in 1987 when they were both struggling actors. At the 1994 premiere of Grant`s breakthrough film `Four Weddings And A Funeral`, Hurley became an international sensation by appearing in a black Versace gown held together with safety pins.
But their relationship suffered a blow in 1995 when Grant was arrested with a prostitute. Although Hurley stood by him at that time, the couple announced their `amicable` split in May.
