Melbourne: Nicole Kidman helped Katie Holmes pluck up the courage to file for divorce from Tom Cruise by telling her that she has no regrets about separating from her ex-husband, according to reports.
Kidman and Cruise divorced in 2001 after 10 years of marriage and the adoption of two children, Isabella, now 19, and Connor, 17.
A magazine has reported that Holmes went to Kidman for support "over the last few weeks" of her marriage and took solace in the fact that Kidman is now happily married to Keith Urban with two daughters.
"(Nicole) told Katie her life is great now and she has no regrets," a website has quoted a source as telling the publication.
Holmes and Kidman are said to have conducted a secret friendship soon after Holmes star tied the knot with Cruise in 2006.
"They spoke when Nicole called the kids," the insider said. "She knows what it’s like in that house."
Kidman had stated in the past that she was "really damaged" when she split from Cruise and "not sure whether (love and marriage) was ever going to happen again to me".
