New York: Tony Parker fired his own legal salvo at estranged wife Eva Longoria by filing a divorce petition in Texas.
Longoria had filed for divorce Wednesday in Los Angeles, California, so now a legal battle may ensue as to where the case will be heard.
According to Parker, the reason for the divorce was because, "the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationships and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation," reports TMZ.
Parker’s papers also indicate that he is going to fight over the couple``s estate.
"Petitioner believes Petitioner and Respondent will enter into an agreement for the division of their estate. Petitioner owns certain separate property that is not part of the community estate of the parties ..," the New York Daily News quoted the papers as reading.
The divorce battle between Parker and Longoria reportedly began when the 35-year-old actress discovered hundreds of flirty texts between her husband and Erin Barry, wife of former teammate Brent Barry, SI.com reported.
And while sources have told People.com that the relationship never got physical between Barry and Parker, it didn’t help Longoria.
"She is devastated, she wants us all to know that," said "Extra" host Mario Lopez after speaking with Longoria.
"But she’s strong."
