From playing an exceptionally impressive child artiste in 'Zakhm', Kunal emerged as an actor, who evolved in his style. His grandfather, Moti Lal Kemmu is a well-known Kashmiri playwright and a recipient of several awards by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Rashtra Bhasa Prachar Samiti, Sahitya Akademi award in 1982 for his contribution to Kashmiri literature as a playwright, and Padmashree.
Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's wife, is half Kashmiri too. The versatile actress is born to German mother Gertrude Hoelzer and Kashmiri father N. Razdan. She did some meaningful cinema, with films like 'Gumraah', 'Sir', 'Saaransh' and 'Mandi' to her credit. Alia Bhatt too is following her mommy's footsteps it seems.
