Mumbai: The Kamakhya Temple in Assam is one of the 51 Shaktipeethas and the most important pilgrimage spot in the state. If you are touring Assam or intend to visit this gorgeous north-eastern Indian state, do visit this temple.

Dedicated to Maa Kamakhya, the essence of female energy, is one of the most important ancient Indian temples and is situated about 8 kilometers towards the western side of the city of Guwahati on the Nilachal Hill.

Hire a cab to reach this temple, if you reach Assam by flight.

Most of the trains halt at the Kamakhya station. If you wish to travel by rail, then check if the train that you board halts at the aforementioned station.

Travelling by road is also easy as the city is very well-connected.
