Mumbai: Ever since the news of Aishwarya’s pregnancy hit the marquee, Abhishek Bachchan is so overwhelmed with emotions that he longs to hold the baby in his arms.
Talking to a daily about wife Aishwarya’s pregnancy and his father Amitabh Bachchan revealing the news to the world, the actor said, “I had told Ash that when my mother (Jaya Bachchan) was expecting my sister Shweta, who was the first Bachchan in our generation, my father had gone to his dad and asked him to relay the good news to family and friends. Ash said we should follow the tradition and not rob him of that honour. So he let the family know first and then tweeted the news to our well wishers across the world.”
“The house is full of flowers, the phone hasn’t stopped ringing. It’s just the happiest feeling. The baby’s due in November. I wish for a healthy baby, hopefully a daughter who looks just like Ash. We would like to have two kids, so maybe a son after that.”
Apparently, five days after Big B broke the news of Ash’s pregnancy, the light eyed beauty used Abhishek’s Twitter account to express her gratitude, “My dearest extended family world over. Thank you so sooooo much 4 all ur love, prayers, best wishes and blessings for us and “ours”... at this most precious time in our lives. deeply moved ... truly cherish all your wishes. god bless and love. thank you thank you and THANK YOU (sic).”
When asked whether he discusses baby names with wife, “Not yet but it soon will. I haven’t had the time to read up on what she should be doing and eating in this stage but after my film releases, that’s what I’ll get down to doing,” said the actor.
Rumours had it that Aishwarya’s pregnancy news was announced by Big B in a fashion to thwart the IIFA awards since the prestigious show had had dropped him as their brand ambassador. “Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting is how I would term such reports. Some morons think that we would use the happiest moment of our lives to gain cheap mileage. I can only wish that when such a moment comes in their lives, they don’t have to face such deplorable negativity,” said an irked actor.
However, Abhishek added that his upcoming production, ‘Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap’ is keeping him quite busy to react to such rubbish, “Some people are also linking the timing of the news to our film’s release. They must know that release dates are decided way in advance. And Bachchans’ don’t need to do such things to promote their films,” said the actor before signing off.
