Cancer was an eye opener for me: Douglas

New York: Michael Douglas has said that cancer has made him realize the importance of family.

The ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo`s Nest’ star said that he feels closer than ever to wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, his kids and father, Kirk.

"Cancer has shown me what family is, it showed me a love that I never knew really existed," New York Post quoted Douglas as telling The Hollywood.

Douglas, who has been involved in an ugly battle over money with ex-wife Diandra Douglas, also said that he doesn’t favour living with a bad marriage and would prefer ending it as soon as possible.
