‘Cigarettes and alcohol caused cancer’

Douglas has blamed years of drinking and smoking for causing his throat cancer.

London: Veteran actor Michael Douglas has blamed years of drinking and smoking for causing his throat cancer.
‘I smoked cigarettes and I drank alcohol a lot and this particular type of cancer is caused by alcohol…but it’s been a long year and I do think this is stress related,’ contactmusic.com quoted him as saying. Michael got to know about his throat cancer last month and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. Douglas admitted his lifestyle choices played a part in his illness. The 65-year-old also believes the personal crises he endured over the last few months may have been a contributing factor. Douglas’ son Cameron was jailed earlier this year on drugs charges. IANS
