Mumbai: Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor has put her weight behind the cause of breast cancer and will be flagging-off the Pinkathon 2012 run scheduled to take place in here on December 16.
Pinkathon 2012 is a women`s run associated with the Women`s Cancer Initiative to raise awareness about breast cancer, being conducted for the first time in Mumbai in 3 categories ? 10 km, 5 km and 3 km.
"I think it is very important for women to know about breast cancer, that if detected early it`s extremely curable and there is a life beyond that. As a woman, I am really proud of being a part of this initiative and I hope to see all women out there on the 16th," Karisma said in a statement.
More than 1500 women of Mumbai have already registered and confirmed to run to raise funds for breast cancer patients.
