Paris Hilton on how she lost weight then gained it back through love
Washington: Socialite Paris Hilton has revealed how she lost weight during her teens and 20s because she was just too busy to eat, but gained it back after boyfriend Cy Waits encouraged her to eat healthy.
Hilton, 30, who is 5’8”, said her partying lifestyle drained her body and by last year she weighed just 105 pounds and fit into a size zero.
“I’d been to every incredible party in the world. But I was going out with my girlfriends and dancing, having a lot of coffee and Red Bull,” People magazine quoted her as saying.
“Being on the go, I would just grab fast food or skip meals because I was busy,” she revealed.
Hilton’s mom, Kathy, noticed that she was shrinking, and told her that she did not look good and that it was bad for her health.
“She would be like, ‘You’re way too skinny. It doesn’t look good’. I said, ‘Mom, everyone is skinny in Hollywood. It’s just the way it is.’ And she’s like, ‘No. It’s not normal’,” Hilton said.
It was only when boyfriend Cy Waits, a former nightclub owner who she started dating last summer, advised her on getting healthy that she changed her eating habits.
“He explained everything to me. Now I only eat organic foods when we’re at home,” Hilton said.
“He makes me watch documentaries on food, like Fast Food Nation, and he makes me aware of what things are good for your body because he’s very into that,” she explained.
By December, however, paparazzi thought Hilton was having too much of a good thing when she hit 125 lbs, and the pregnancy rumours followed.
“Even if I’m a few pounds overweight, people will be like, ‘Oh, she’s fat’. And it’s not fair that it’s like that, but it is,” she said.
Today, Hilton has settled in at 115 lbs., she goes jogging with Waits, and works with a nutritionist.
“I’m really happy with the weight I’m at. I feel like it’s healthy and normal. I’m just making smart choices,” she added.
