London: He made hearts flutter with his toned physique as the handsome spy in James Bond films, but actor Pierce Brosnan seems to have put those days behind, piling on a few pounds recently.
The 57-year-old Irish-born hunk was sporting a rather rotund physique as he ran errands in Los Angeles this week, with his stomach dropping over his waistband, reported Daily Mail.
The `Die Another Day` star made no effort to hide his increasing belly, wearing a tight white shirt that emphasised every unflattering bulge.
These days Brosnan is worried more about environmental issues than his increasing weight gain. The actor and his wife Keely are very green-conscious, and the family is preparing to move into a newly-built eco-friendly Malibu beachfront house, which was built specifically to fit green standards.
The house has solar panels that will heat the house, outdoor pool and guest cabana. There is also a waste disposal system, custom-built 250,000 pounds energy-saving lighting and a solar-powered revolving compost heap. All water can be recycled in an on-site plant.
"Pierce and Keely have always been dedicated environmentalists and they were determined that their dream home would set a new standard in being eco-friendly," said a source.
