Toshi Sabri injured in road accident

Mumbai: Popular Bollywood singer Toshi Sabri has been hospitalised after a car accident on the Pune-Nashik highway today morning, which left his band mate dead.

The `Maahi Maahi` hitmaker sustained injuries including a broken hip bone and is currently under observation at the Wockhardt hospital in Nashik.

The accident happened when the singer along with his band was returning from a performance in Shirdi during the wee hours and their vehicle was hit by a truck.

"I was in Mumbai when I came to know that my brother has had an accident. Toshi is in a critical condition. He will undergo an operation tonight or tomorrow morning," the
singer`s brother Sharib Sabri told reporters.

Abdul Aatik, the singer`s bandmate died on the spot while Toshi`s manager and two other band members survived injuries.

"Abdul was our main guy and his death is a huge loss for us. He is a family guy with a young child and that makes it all the more tragic," said Sharib. Toshi and Sharib, known as the Sabri brothers, shot to fame with the reality show, `Amul Star Voice of India` and had gone on to compose music for films like `Jashnn`, `Raaz 2`, `Jail` and `Veer`.
