Zeta Jones never told husband about bipolar disorder
London: Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, who was suffering from Bipolar disorder earlier this year, never complained about being depressed to husband Michael Douglas.
The 41-year-old didn`t admit her struggle to her spouse, who was suffering with throat cancer, but is now recovering, reported a website.
"She`s doing fine. She`s been back working on her movie in Louisiana and she`s feeling great. She`s not the type of person to complain she`s depressed when her husband is fighting cancer," Douglas said.
"Catherine`s a very strong woman and she`s had a lot to deal with. She was so supportive and caring of me that she couldn`t tell me or anyone else she was having a tough time herself," he added.
Douglas underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy in a bid to beat cancer and says he was pleased with how well Dylan, 10, and eight-year-old Carys, his children with Zeta-Jones coped with his treatment, thinking the equipment it required was "cool" and similar to that seen in the `Star Wars` movie series.
"They saw me getting radiation treatment and they thought it was like `Star Wars`. They thought it was the coolest thing they`ve ever seen with all the machines and the masks they put on your face. So in that way, I think you take the fear out of it. To be honest, kids are pretty resilient," he said.
