New Delhi: World's most photographed tigress Machhli (T-16) who happened to be one of the longest surviving tigress breathed her last on Thursday.

The 19-year-old tigress had not been keeping well for the past few months and had fallen critically ill over the last four days without eating anything.

Often referred to as the 'Queen of Ranthambore National Park', Machhli gained fame because of her tourist-friedly and brave attitude.

She caught global attention when she fought and killed a 14-foot-long crocodile in the national park.

She was named Machhli because of the marks she had on her face that resemble a fish and were quite unique.
