Go organic on your skin
The transition of beauty from a perceived makeup-only business to a complete and wholesome skin care regimen has given way to the need for organic products. No makeup shelf is complete without natural and organic products. Beauty expert and Director at Alps Cosmetic Clinic, Bharti Taneja, talks about India`s rising obsession with the organic products.
Need for Natural
The global demand for organic personal care products was over $7.6 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach $13.2 billion by 2018. The market is witnessing a steady growth due to increasing consumer incomes and awareness along with the changing lifestyle demands. India is also experiencing the same thus if not now, it is surely a huge market in the near future. The consumers today are becoming increasingly aware of following a good skin care regimen with beauty products that promise to benefit their skin in more than one way. Also, the media and internet is educating and sensitising the consumers about the ill-effects caused by long term use of chemicals contained in some of the other beauty products.
The new crops of organic products are enriched with vitamins and minerals. "Organic" simply refers to how the ingredients of a product were cultivated without pesticides, fertilizers, growth hormones or other such chemicals. Not only are the ingredients grown naturally, the processing of the products does not involve use of alcohol or synthetic chemicals. They are always preservatives free and mostly without any fragrance.
The pricing is of course higher than the other products. Brands like Sephora, Bare Minerals and Afterglow are slightly expensive owing to the expensive formulation techniques like baking the foundation etc and rich vitamins and minerals but they are worth every rupee. Brands like Physicians Formula are available at a lesser price. Overall, the pricing of organic products is fair and people are warming up to the idea of spending more on impeccable skincare routines.
What`s noteworthy is that these organic formulas apart from just being natural and eco-friendly, also deliver great results and are easily accessible nowadays. Proper use of these products can be really beneficial as they are extremely natural and skin friendly. They also penetrate deep into the skin without causing any irritation. Enriched with rich vitamins and minerals, their long term use nourishes improves the health of the skin. It helps to cover up the skin imperfections along with acting as a skin care regimen in the process. Such kinds of makeup and skincare products are best suited for sensitive skin.
Join the bandwagon
The brand Pure&True genuinely work for betterment of the society. Not only are the products A-grade but their workforce comprises of unemployed people and the money they earn also goes into charity. Bare Minerals help you steer away from inorganic substances like formaldehyde, parabens and talc substituting it with essential minerals and vitamins delicately nourish and heal the skin. There is no end to what products and companies can claim on their label but we can only hope they comply with all that they mention. But, as an informed consumer you can do your bit by checking on the internet and staying vigilant about the pros and cons of a product on you and others.
