Mumbai, Dec 10: Akshay Kumar has come up with a winning new avatar in his upcoming flick ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ and starring opposite him is Deepika Padukone, in a very novel and oriental image. The movie is already gathering interest due to thrilling action sequences and sidesplitting comic moments. In an exclusive interview with Spicezee.com, Akshay Kumar talks about his hopes from ‘Chandni Chowk to China’, and the need of a comedy in the current sombre times.Spicezee: Tell us something about your role in the movie. Akshay: I play the role of a chef who has been misunderstood as an ancient Chinese warrior in the film. Spicezee: We have seen the high octane action scenes in the promo, so is this an action movie? Akshay: I would call this an action-comedy. It is not a purely action film, not what you call a ‘Khiladi’ film. It is the kind of films that I would love to sit down with my son and watch. Spicezee: What would you say on the risk factor that involves such action-packed scenes, as shown in ‘Chandni…’? Akshay: Yes, I love the risk factor in everything. This is the reason why I took up ‘Fear Factor’; there I had these young ladies taking great risks. I love taking risks, there is no fun in anything without risk. We all have to face some kinds of risks all our lives, these attacks that we all faced were risky for life. It exists in all the things. Spicezee: What hopes do you have from this movie? Akshay: We have hopes from all the movies we do, naturally. I had high hopes from my previous film ‘Singh is Kinng’, before that I expected much from ‘Tashan’. The thing is that I sign a film only because I find something in it to hope for. Spicezee: Is it apt to have a comedy release so soon after the Mumbai attack? Akshay: It is very important to make people laugh in these times. There is much sadness and stress in today’s world, watching movies is the cheapest form to beat stress and bring some light moments in our lives.
