Ahmedabad: The voting for civic polls in Gujarat was held on February 17, 2018. Notifications for the elections were declared on January 29, 2018, and elections nominations forms were accepted till February 3, 2018.

The results were declared on Monday for 75 Nagar Palikas (municipalities).

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress were locked in a direct fight in the civic polls. In the last local elections, BJP had won 107 seats out of total 123 seats in 2016. 

Following are the updates:

- Among the municipalities, BJP has won are Jafrabad, Vadnagar, Jasdan, Vijaynagar, Sanand, Talaja, Halvad, Bantva, Kodinar, Lathi, Kheralu, Karamsad, Songadh, Bavla, Mansa, Dwarka, Bhanvad, Kutiyana, Chalala, Gadhda, Idar, Prantij, Jamjodhpur, Dhrol, Chhaya, Bilimora, Gariyadhar, Sihor and Lathi.

- Congress wins Radhanpur municipality in Patan district.

- BJP wins in Vadnagar.

- Trends for all 75 municipalities are in - BJP leading in 44, Congress in 27, others in four.

- Congress wins Radhanpur municipality in Patan district.

- In Mehsana, BJP wins 4 seats in ward number 1 in Kheralu.

- Trends in 71 municipalities - BJP leads in 41 while Congress is leading in 27, others leading in 3 municipalities.

- Congress wins ward number 1 in Chorvad in Junagadh district.

- Congress emerges victorious ward in Kheralu municipality in Mehsana district.

-  BJP wins three seats in Vadnagar ward number one and Congress one in Mehsana district.

- In Vadnagar municipality BJP wins 7 seats in Mehsana district.

- Overall, trends in 50 municipalities show the BJP leading in 27 while the Congress leading in 20.

- There is a tie in Vanthali municipality in Junagadh district with both Congress and BJP winning 12 seats each.

- In Junagadh district, BJP and Congress win 2 seats each in Bantva municipal ward number 2.

- In Junagadh district, Congress wins 4 seats in ward number 1.
