New Delhi: Inspiration can be found when you really search for it and in the most unexpected of places.
The story of a girl from New York who born with a rare disease and was given a 50-50 chance of survival by doctor has inspired many after she defied the odds and followed her dream of becoming a dancer.
Tiffany Geigel was born with a stunted stature, curved spine and a short neck resulting in breathing problems due to crushed lungs, which subjected her to immense pain every day.
But, just like any other young girl, she had dreams too and her condition didn't deter her from doing what she had always wanted to do – become a ballerina when she grew up.
Supporting her completely and with full force, Tiffany's parents enrolled her in a dance class at the age of three and now, almost three decades later, she has braved through her situation and become a professional dancer.
As per a report in the Deccan Chronicle, despite being just four-foot-tall and facing several health issues, Tiffany has a degree in dance and is trained in several dance forms including ballet, tap, jazz, salsa and even Bollywood. She taught dance to children for eight years and is now performing as a professional dancer.
She trains for 16 hours a week and has also appeared on a popular TV show. Tiffany now hopes to open her own dance studio some day.
