Anisha Dhar and Nupur Khanna, who are the Co-Founders of Eatonomist and also a gourmet meal planner have shared some pointers which you can keep in mind the next time you dine out.

Use low fat dressing and sauces

Don't use much of cream or cheese or ghee to the food that you consume daily. Instead, use olive oil for non-Indian cooking and mustard oil for Indian.

Use lean cuts of meat

One should cut off the extra fat of the meats that you eat. There is enough protein in the meat.

Use healthy flours

Start using flours that are healthier which also have low calories such as multigrain, millets and jowar.

Cooking techniques

Instead of frying your food, start baking, steaming, grilling, poaching, sous vide as your methods of cooking.

Technology

Start maintaining a healthy diet chart and eat accordingly by getting an app or a calorie calculator that tells the daily consumption and helps in keeping the calories in check.

Use bowls

One should start having meals in a bowl as it has all the necessary components like the carbs, the protein and the fibre.
