New Delhi: An asthma attack can be a frightening experience. And if you've had an asthma attack, you probably would know what the feeling is like – perhaps gasping for breath, yet you feel like you aren't getting enough air in your lungs.
Asthma is a condition that causes difficulty with breathing. During an asthma attack, your airways become swollen or inflamed, and thicker mucus is produced, resulting in coughing, wheezing breathlessness and difficulty breathing.
Unfortunately, asthma is a long-term disease that has no cure. The best way to avoid an asthma attack is to make sure your symptoms are well-controlled in the first place. Besides taking medications, avoiding triggers is one of the key steps in preventing an asthma attack.
Yoga, which has been performed in India for thousands of years, is believed to be helpful in the treatment of asthma. The following video demonstrates some great yoga poses that can help relieve the symptoms of asthma.
