Exercise tips on food labels better than calorie count for weight watchers
Washington: Deciphering nutritional information in a food package isn`t always easy. People tend to eat more when presented with only calorie counts on the label.

A new study from researchers at the University of North Carolina indicates that people make better choices when a menu shows how may miles a person would have to walk, or how many minutes it would take to burn off the calories, Discovery News reported.

Adding this kind of information to food labels or menus could go a long way to reducing the amount of food a person eats or, at the very least, helping that person make a better decision, the report said. The study has been published in the journal Appetite.
