New Delhi: Winters are an ideal time for family to travel or just visit their loved ones and be away from the hustle and bustle of city life. From a family vacation to an adventure trail to a honeymoon, winter is probably the best season, particularly, in a tropical country like India as weather at this time remains enjoyable as well as fulfilling for the visitors and residents alike.
While it would be more peaceful and calm, compared to summer months, the season also brings its own challenges like colds and flu or trying to keep warm. Therefore, parents need to be more cautious, if they're travelling with an infant. Mahalakshmi K, National HR Manager from Teddy Baby Buddy Panel - a leading disposable hygiene products manufacturers in the country with an ISO 9001:2015 and CE Certification - shares some handy tips for parents to keep their child healthy:
Carry warm clothes
The weather is just right for romancing as the winter is just setting in. If you are going on vacation, to finish off your pending leaves, don’t forget to carry woolen garments and ensure that your infant has his full protection gears from monkey caps to socks and tiny cute hand gloves.
Do not disturb infants routine
Extra care and attention is required specially if you have infants travelling with you. Ensure that the food and bed time are maintained so that the baby does not become cranky. According to your travel plan, remember to carry pack of diapers, as you might not easily get it, if you are at any remote location or away from city. Also your usual brand may not be available at the place you are going.
It is very important that you dress your kid in easy and comfortable clothes. You can adorn them with cute cardigans and jacket but ensure that you keep it simple and preferably soft and silky. Take extra care that infants’ routine is not disturbed if you are planning to go out for a day or two.
Winter cream & baby lotion
During winters, the skin becomes dry and itchy. You should carry a good winter cream and moisturizer to protect yourself from cold. Also carry a good baby lotion for your baby as their skin is delicate and can get dry fast. Buy a cream with high SPF content, so that it protects the baby' skin from harmful UV rays as you generally like to soak in winter sun.
Carry basic first aid
Have a small first aid kit handy in your bag during festive season. First aid kit should contain all necessary ointments, antiseptics, band-aid and most importantly a good thermometer.
Mosquito repellent & machines
Carry good herbal mosquito repellents and mat machines so that you keep the mosquitos under check, while the baby is sleeping.
Ear plugs & pollution mask
To avoid the loud music and other noise pollution, plug in ear buds or cotton in the kids’ ears. It is a big task, but make your infant's wear a face mask to prevent him/her from inhaling smoke and polluted air.
