It is mainly because of their sedentary lifestyle and unwanted stress. One needs to consume heart-healthy foods which can help you lead a happy and healthy life.

Here are some superfoods which you should include in your daily diet:

Berries

Include lots of berries like blueberries and strawberries in your diet as they contain high level of naturally occurring compounds called flavonoids which counter the buildup of plaque and provide other cardiovascular benefits.

Salmon

Consuming salmon helps in lowering the risk of arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) and atherosclerosis (plaque build-up in the arteries) and decrease triglycerides as it is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids.

Citrus fruits

Oranges and grapefruits contain rich amount of the flavonoids that help reduce the risk of ischemic stroke. Citrus fruits are also high in vitamin C, which has been linked with a lower risk of heart disease.
