He is rich….he is handsome…he is successful…he is 43, but he is unmarried. No prizes for guessing this one, we are talking about Salman Khan. Probably the most eligible bachelor of Bollywood for the longest time-ever, the bratty hunk has eluded questions about his marriage for more than a decade now. From the contestants on his show “Dus ka Dum” to all of his family members and friends, everyone seems to have just one question on their minds: When are you going to get married? From Sangeeta Bijlani to Somi Ali and from Aishwarya Rai to Katrina Kaif, lady luck has always shined and smiled on Salman. Even with a huge age difference between him and his current girlfriend Katrina Kaif, the couple is going strong for quite sometime now. Reports even suggest that Salman has popped the big question to her, which she is said to have turned down! Well Katrina Kaif’s career is going great, now that even Akshay Kumar is calling her his lucky charm. Kat is definitely eyeing the numero uno spot in Bollywood. That would give any young lady with ambitions enough reason to say ‘No’ to someone who is known to beat his girls up. The year 2009 has already witnessed gala weddings of two Bollywood actresses so far: Ayesha Takia and Amrita Arora. While Ayesha Takia, the girl who had been giving sleepless nights to her producers (with rumours of her marriage coming up every now & then) tied the knot with her long time beau Farhan Azmi, Amrita Arora walked down the aisle with Shakeel Ladak. Ayesha Takia is still very much around and returning with ‘Wanted’ alongside Salman Khan after her last film Tasveer 8X10 bombed at the box office. Amrita Arora is rumoured to be expecting her first baby. The year started on a good knot (note) and one wishes more and more actresses to settle down and save us the anxiety and curiosity. Especially the ones who spend extra time in their vanity vans to get `extra attention` from their make-up artistes to hide signs of age. How much do we wish that they tie the knot soon and call it quits from showbiz and, if not more, take a sabbatical! Here are some of Bollywood ladies who should start looking for a suitable match seriously. Sushmita Sen, former Miss Universe has had all the men across the nation drooling over her. Right from the start of her career, Miss Sen dated so many men that we have lost the count: from Vikram Bhatt to Sanjay Narang and from Randeep Hooda to Bunty Walia to her current flame Mudassar Nazar. Sushmita was never short of men, but she has not decided to settle down yet. With few projects in her kitty, it seems now is the time for Sushi to call it quits rather than do movies like “Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag”. Shilpa Shetty, the partner in IPL’s Rajasthan Royals, winner of Big Brother, host of Bigg Boss 2 and queen of controversies. Sanity has finally prevailed over Miss Shetty and there are reports of her deciding to settle down with her UK-based boyfriend Raj Kundra. Though Shilpa is not doing that badly on her career front now, but considering her huge popularity in the UK post Big Brother, her settling down there looks inevitable- as they say, hang up the boots when you are on top of your game. Then there is Urmila Matondkar. Well, since Masoom days, her voice has not changed much. But her luck surely has which was evident in her essaying Simi Grewal’s role in the remake of 1980’s movie ‘Karz’ with its rechristened name Karzzz. Even the numerologically correct name could not save the day for Himesh and Urmila. Needless to say, Urmi’s career is not going anywhere. She is a fine actress and has a lot more to offer but with her kitty almost empty and not even a single hit under her belt, it is high time that Miss Lollypop figure walk down the aisle. Marriage has been on the cards for the hot couple Bipasha Basu-John Abraham for quite sometime now, but the girl seems to be too busy for this knotty affair. And those who thought she is over aged to be a Bollywood leading lady, Bips proved everyone wrong by starring opposite younger actors like Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno and now Neil Nitin Mukesh in Aa Dekhen Zara. Well the wait seems to be long for John Abraham as of now. Kareena Kapoor: Post her break up with Shahid Kapur, the young scion of Kapoor khandan is seen canoodling with Saif Ali Khan, who is now more famous as Saifu. With her career booming and her plate full of plum roles, Bebo is not even considering marriage for another two years. But you never know… After breaking up with her long time beau Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta is back to her single status and seems to be enjoying it too. She is now being linked to US hotelier-cum-actor, the very married, Vikram Chatwal. A strong-headed woman that she is, Preity lives life on her own terms and loves her independence. So we hope she finds her ideal match soon as Bollywood and cricket have not offered much for a long time now. They might be seeing each other for quite some time but both Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra have not confessed their love in public. With Rani’s career fading and Adi’s divorce through, marriage for both should certainly be on the cards. The question is ‘when’. We hope it’s not done already, though. Can’t have missed all the tamasha.. After walking out of her decade-long relationship with Kelly Dorjee, former Miss Universe Lara Dutta moved on with his good friend Dino Morea. The couple has been spotted together often, but has been reluctant to confess their relationship to media or public. But a little birdie tells us that even that flame has now gone out and both have taken their own ways. With her relationship with Hurman Baweja finally over, Priyanka Chopra has now moved on and is rumored to have an on/off affair with her ‘Kaminey’ co-star Shahid Kapur. With her career on an upswing, Piggy Chops does not seem to be toying with the idea of marriage even after being asked again and again by her former lover: “What’s your Rashee?” But gone are the days when marriage meant the end of career for Bollywood’s leading ladies what with all the married actresses making strong comebacks and managing to get good assignments. Marriage is not that bad an idea for B-town females as long as they find Mr Perfect. So the billion dollar question in the end remains: When will Salman Khan get married?
