Mumbai, Nov 21: Producer of controversial film Deshdrohi , today filed a fresh petition in Bombay High Court challenging Maharashtra Government`s decision to continue ban on the film. The petition will come up for hearing on November 24,his lawyer Rajesh Mishra said.
Kamaal Khan, who also plays the protagonist in the film, based on a north Indian migrant s plight in the city, had earlier moved the Bombay High Court against the ban.
The Court refused to interfere with the ban, but asked government to give him a hearing and take a decision afresh.
The Government yesterday decided to continue the ban on the film.
Khan had met Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Chitkala Zutshi and Home Secretary Anna Dani on November 18,seeking to set aside the ban.
The film was banned as police feared that it would create law and order problem, coming on the heels of MNS chief Raj Thackeray`s anti-North Indian campaign.
