Tyra Banks to return to modelling

Tyra will be returning to modelling after a hiatus of half a decade.

New York: Former supermodel Tyra Banks will be returning to modelling after a hiatus of half a decade and has already been signed on by IMG, the agency that gave her the big break. The 36-year-old who has regained her svelte figure after years of yo-yo dieting, has also aligned the firm with her own company, Bankable Enterprises, reported a news daily.
"The last time I was with IMG, I was set on taking on the modelling world in the high fashion and commercial sectors. Now I`m dreaming even bigger but this time for my company as well," said the `America`s Next Top Model` host. As part of the new deal, Banks will participate in commercial endorsements and other fashion related opportunities. Banks was the first African American woman on the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and in 1997, she received the VH1 award for Supermodel of the Year. The statuesque beauty retired from modeling in May 2005 to concentrate on her television career and walked the runway for the final time at the 2005 Victoria`s Secret Fashion Show. Banks is also soon to bring out her first novel, `Modelland` which she promises will be "inspired by some of the models I`ve known both nice and ice". PTI
