200 cueists to vie for honours in World Snooker

Hyderabad: Ace Indian cueists Geet Sethi and Pankaj Advani will be among the 200 international players from
nearly 80 countries vying for top honours at the World Snooker Championship beginning here tomorrow. Besides, Sethi and Advani, Rupesh Shah, Yasin Merchant and Manan Chandra are the top-ranked Indian players who would participate in the mega event concluding on November 25. The state-of-the-art Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) is the venue of the event. "In addition to the live coverage on television, the tournament would also be webcast," tournament director Capt P V K Mohan said. The event will be inaugurated tomorrow evening at a grand function where Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah will be the chief guest and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni is guest of honour. Pascal Guillaume, President of International Billiards and Snooker Federation, would also be present on the occasion. Bureau Report
