New Delhi: Around 200 government schools here
would get a new look and well-equipped infrastructure within
the next two years, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday
said.

"Education department has assigned 198 school premises
located in North-West, North-East and East Delhi to Delhi
State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation
(DSIIDC) to upgrade their infrastructure under the project
"Roopantar" (change)," Dikshit said at a function.

The DSIIDC has appointed IL&FS as a consultant to the
basic minimum acceptable standards of health, hygiene and
safety in these schools.

While 150 schools of the 198 figure in the second phase,
the work in 16 schools have already been completed and that in
29 schools is likely to be over this month, she said.
