All India FIDE-rated Chess tourney in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: An All India FIDE-rated Prize Money Open Chess Tournament under the auspice of Anand Chess Academy, will be held here from December 25 to 30.

Those below 2000 ratings and players without ratings could take part in the tournament, a release from P Venugopalan, Director, Anand Chess Academy, Calicut, said on Thursday. The total prize money for the tourney is Rs 75,000. There will be special prizes for the Veterans, Women, Junior, Sub-Junior, Under-14, Under-12, Under -9 and Under-9 category. The first 300 players who registers their names will be eligible for participating in the tourney, the release said. PTI
