An evening of thrash at the Morrison bash

New Delhi: It was going to be an evening of good ol rock and roll interspersed with some insights into the city’s cult rock hangout zones….Yes, we’re talking about Café Morrison hosting a gig with our very own rockers Prestorika performing live thrash metal ranging from Mettalica, Iron Maiden to their new self-comps.
The evening set in with the PR guys at ‘Ink’ doing a good job with the introductions and I soon caught up with Siddharth, the co-owner of the café that has been satiating the thirst of rockers in New Delhi from almost six years now.
It was refreshing to know that the establishment values music to an extent that they would rather have rock aficionados sitting and singing along than to serve liquor to a packed house demanding any other form of commercial music. I was told that the establishment plays anything ranging from hard rock, death/black metal to underground music…anything that tickles the music buds of a select but certainly not small group of youngsters in the city.
Alas! The joys did get a slight break with the fact that Prestorika were not as great as I had heard them a few years back and I hope that they get their vocals straightened out or distorted real soon cause the bassist and the drummer are truly wreaking havoc. That said and done, it should also be noted that the group has kept its basics still sound enough to make you head-bang now and then.
The event unfolded quite well with the Metal Heads shaking off the boredom of the monotonous life with a major hell yeah! All in all, thumbs up to the café and the guys who made it all happen.
